    Smith machine or rest?

    Hey bros, about 3 days ago while doing a warm up on bench, i felt a crack and pain in my right side ribs. It turns out I pulled a muscle. my question is should I rest it or continue benching using the smith machine. The injury only hurts when I use free wieghts. Just don't want to lose to much strength, was benching 345lbs clean, no bonce no shirt.

    I would say continue doing whatever you can as long as it does not aggravate it.

    I would go light on the Smith Machine for awhile if it does not hurt, just stay away from any movement that you feel (pain/pull) in that area.
