    squat shoes and roll over?

    what does itmean when lifters speak of there feet rolling or rolling over when they squat? i don't understand what it means, this discription is vague. why do the wide stance squaters love the chuck taylors?what advantage do they give , and why.

    It's when the inside of your foot comes off the floor and you begin to come up on the outsides of your feet. The same position your foot would be in to cause a sprained ankle. When squatting heavy, some shoes will make this very easy to do. It is easier to have this happen with a wide stance. Wide squatters like Chucks because they are flat and have great side support which prevents the rollover. For a more brutal description of rollover, watch the left foot of Ed Russ in this video clip.

    Yea, that's one you don't want to watch right before you head off to the gym for a heavy squat workout. That was 1058 on the bar by the way.

    You have a clip for everything. Good squating shoes are essential for any kind of heavy wt. If you're squating heavy in running shoes, you're asking for trouble.

    Yes I know. It comes from way to many hours sitting on my big ass screwing around on this damn computer. I should be out dragging the sled, pimping some hoe's or eating pizza.

    Basically your ankles gives out. I have seen videos, its gruesome stuff. I recommend squat boots or some olympic lifting shoes. NOT tennis shoes!
