    Funny deadlift pains

What I wanna know is sometimes when I am doing my heavier sets of deadlifts (either stiff legged or regular) I sometimes feel a pain in my groin area. It feels like a hot sharp pain when it happens. Should I be concerned? Should I lay off the deads for a while, or just go lighter. I should add that I have only been doing deads seriously for about 8 months or so. I do make sure that my back is straight (not round) grip is good and I am looking straight ahead. Thanks all. Mark

mfenske, are the pains just above the groin area either to the left or right? Does the pain only come after/during the deadlift movement or do you experiance that pain on and off during the course of the day?

I have had this happen a few times. It hurts while I am
deadlifting and for a little while after. This last time
it hurt a little longer than normal. I just don't want to injure
myself seriously. I would much rather take a week or two off
    of that lift. Mark
