    Try these bada$$ flapjacks!

I work as a travelling sales rep so I'm always driving around, therefore I have to pack up all my meals at the start of the day. I work out first thing so by the time I have my PPWO I am on the road, I have been looking for a convenient way to consume my oats on the move for PPWO, up until now I've been mixing them in a whey/casein shake - not ideal as I have a whey/dex shake PWO and I prefer not to have two shakes in a row.

I made this recipe two days ago:
    Chocolate flavour fat free* flapjack.
    250g oatmeal
    250g whole oats
    50g cocoa
    90g splenda
    8 egg whites

Mix well, spread to desired thickness on lightly greased baking tray, bake in fan oven @150c for 15-20 mins.

They tasted pretty good, maybe a bit too sweet - will use less splenda next time.

    Today I made this recipe:
Cinnamon & Raisin fat free* flapjack.
    350g oatmeal
    250g whole oats
    60g splenda
    240g raisins
    2 teaspoons cinnamon
    10 egg whites

Mix well, spread to desired thickness on lightly greased baking tray, bake in fan oven @150c for 15-20 mins.

Now these are bloody fantastic, give 'em a go!

    *Well nearly fat free!

    Exclamation

    STOP PRESS... NEW FLAPJACK RECIPE!

Just plucked these bad boys from my oven, I call them

    NotSmall's Choca-Mocha-Hunger-Stoppas.
    200g oatmeal
    400g whole oats
    75g cocoa
    60g splenda
    10 egg whites
3 heaped teaspoons instant coffee dissolved in 50mls boiling water

Mix well, spread to desired thickness on lightly greased baking tray, bake in fan oven @150c for 15-20 mins.

Divide into 6 equal flapjacks, each one has: 21g protein, 63g carbs, 11g fat.

Now these are the shizzle dizzle!
I am really starting to scare myself now with my culinary skills.

Mix up a batch of these biatches - they will not dissapoint!

    NotSmall.

Interesting... I made a cream of rice egg and banana pancake one time.... it was so gross.... I ate it like the man I am though... cuz it still had what I needed in it... try adding bananas cuz that was the only tasty part. What is the difference between whole oats and oatmeal??? I mean... is Oatmeal not as good for you?

By oatmeal I mean shredded/granulated oats as opposed to whole oats. You could probably use all one or the other as the nutritional value is very similar, I found that by mixing the two I got a better texture/consistancy.
The cinnamon & raisin ones are delicious, you could probably get away with less raisins than I used if you wanted to be a bit stricter.
The new mocha ones are pretty tasty too, I would recommend getting them a little crispier than the raisin/cinamon ones, they seem to taste better this way.
At the end of the day they may not be quite as tasty as a saturated fat/simple carb laiden traditional flapjack but they are d@mn tasty and for me the greatest thing about them is that it's a convenient way to have my oats 'on the move'.

This just in... The best just got better!

I made a batch yesterday using this recipe:

    Cinnamon, Raisin & Apple Delight.
    350g oatmeal
    250g whole oats
    60g splenda
    150g raisins
1 small apple peeled and diced into 5mm cubes
    2 teaspoons cinnamon
    10 egg whites

Mix well, spread to desired thickness on lightly greased baking tray, bake in fan oven @150c for 20-25 mins.

These take a little longer to cook as the apple makes the mix alot more moist but hot-diggity-dog they are worth the wait!
