I've heard people say you absorb slower if you use milk, but I don't think it's too significant unless you're using a good bit of milk. I just use 1/2 cup oatmeal + 1/2 cup milk.

hehehe so true. When I cut I lay off the diary but when Im bulking I love me some milk. Not only does it have a great macro ratio (almost exactly 40/40/20) but it helps me up my calories for the day without feeling stuffed and is a great source of calcium

There have been studies showing that 3servings of milk a day will help with lower fat. I would personally use good old H2O, and yes you will absorb that faster than milk.
