Cancer Survivor Looking for some advice

In 2003 I was 26 years old and in the best shape of my life, but it didn’t last long. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. After chemo, radiation, and a stem cell transplant I’ve been cancer free for almost eight years. Over the course of my treatments I went from 6’8” and 275# to around 200 - 205# and 20% body fat.

Along with the weight loss and increase in body fat I’ve had a significant loss of muscle.

Over the past three years I’ve worked out regularly and cleaned up my diet, but my muscle and strength gains have come very slow. I’m wondering if steroids are something I should look into for my muscle atrophy and what type of doctor/specialist I could see about this.

If you know of a past post or could give me tips for searching the forums I'd be greatful.

    thanks

Welcome!! So glad to hear you are a SURVIVOR!!! this is wonderful to hear. So so much.

For now I do not remember anything specific here but may as well do a search.

As far as a doctor? An endocrinologist?

    Glad you are here! ENJOY~

Thank you SlimmerMe. I'm checking in to endocrinologists in my area.

Kudos on your victory pal. Honestly, I like your thinking on this. You may be able to get your doc to assist you also. Post therapeutic regimen I mean.
