    need help!

I'm 50 years old, diagnosed with low testosterone . I have recieved two shots of Testosterone Cypionate in last 5 weeks and have used Testim gel for one week. I almost feel worse. Extremely fatigued, depressed, no sex drive. Any suggestions? Should I add anything into the mix? I'm willing to try anything at this point...Thanks

First and foremost; are you under a Doctor's care?

Mixing injections and transdermals? This is a bad idea for many reasons...

Read the stickies at the top of the forum?

Post your most recent BW complete with ranges and we'll jump in; without that anything we say at this point is pure conjecture.

Welcome to the forum Artie, you've come to the right place for help!

Thanks GDevine. My Dr. prescribed the shots. I added the gels to hopefully kickstart my program and avoid putting a bullet in my head. I read alot, but never anything negative regarding mixing. I will post lab results shortly....Anything else I should be doing? I'm totally green to all of this...Thanks

    Post all labs with ranges.

Stop adding the transdermal and follow your Doc's protocol.

Can you post your protocol here as well?

is that all he checked for? well i am not surprised since he put you on one shot every three weeks! thats why you feel the way you do, this type of treatment (if you want to call it that) is far worse than without. find a new doc fast, someone that knows TRT. see Kel's thread regarding "Finding a Physician" its a sticky in this section. hang in there, we will help you get where you need to be, but first you must find a new TRT doctor.

thanks Artie, unfortunately not enough to make an assessment. like to see T4, T3, LH, FSH, Free T, SHBG, E2. all the stuff that are needed for trt assessment.

your alt is a little elevated. are you on any medication, alcohol? these two can have a negative impact on to testosterone production.

bass is correct; these panels are not sufficient to make any assessment.

See the sticky by kel on what panels you need.

Injections every 2 to 3 weeks is misguided.

Artie, no question you are low on T, in fact too low to be considered a medical condition. you need to know why you are low and whether trt is safe for you. most likely you ate a candidate for trt, but you need to see a good trt doctor to treat you properly. like GD said, read Kel'l thread regarding Finding a Physician. remember, we cant treat you here, we can only make suggestions.

Does anyone know if these reference ranges are standardized at all? Because I'm looking at my last test results(Ha Ha), and Artie's reference #'s are a good bit higher than what's stated on my test. For example my FreeT 1.2 (1.6-2.9) T 209 (241-827) with #'s in parentheses being the reference I'm assuming?

Cant add to what was siad other than reinforce that pinning every 2-3 weeks is ridiculas. My not solve your problem but I would immediateley drop to half the dose once per week and continue pushing this Doc or find a new one. Any Doc suggesting 2-3 weeks right off the bat has my attention, and not in a good way.
