    Dextrose

So i am thinking of incorporating some dextrose into my diet. Time that i am going to be using it are :

    a)during (mixed in water)
    b)PWO

My tub of dextrose is 1.25 tsp = 4g of sugar

Protein, one scoop is 24 grams per scoop.

    So if i take 10 servings dex (1.25x10) = 12.5 servings x 4 (grams sugar in eh serv.) = 50 grams total.

Take 5 servings dex during workout = 25 grams dex
    Then 5 servings dex/protein = 25 grams dex / 48 grams pro

    Giving me almost a 1:1.

    Am i right here ?

Sometimes I mix Dextrose in my shake post-workout to give me that quick carb replenishment. Dextrose has a much better flavor to it than regular table sugar. You'll love it.

I use 3 Tbls. Comes out to about 28gr = lil over 100 xtra cals. My shakes are 50grams pro = 200 cals. I also use soymilk in my shakes. I don't like to go over 500 cals in a shake.

if the concentration is 4g per 1.25tsp then 5 serving is 20g of sugar, 6 servings would be 24g sugar
    Giving me almost a 1:1.

each serving is 1.25 tsp = 4 grams sugar.
    So 10 servings (teaspoons) = 12.5 teaspoons = 50grams total.

now i get it, though i don't think it's right, if you have the equation
1.25=4 and you multiply both sides by 10 you get
    12.5=40 so 12.5tsps=40g

So i am still slightly under 1:1 which is fine.

quick question though wont those carbs ingested during the work out be burned up during work out. Not contributing to the amount you take after work out. ?

they would if he runs out of glycogen during, but if he ingests complex carbs before hand then he will have full stores so not much of what he drinks will be used IMO

My plan would be not to run out in the first place. As i use glycogen i will slowly add in carbs during the workout then finish them off with PWO shake.
