Accutaine users

After lengthy input from my doctor I decieded to run a course of accutaine to treat by backne. Ive tried every other alialable option with no seccess. Im just comin up on a month here and not a whole lot has changed. Aside from extremely dry and craked lips I cant report a whole lot positive yet. My achne actually got worse for the first while and then leveled off. I have read, and heard, that this drug may take six to eight weeks before any noticable reduction in achne is noticable....any oppinions on this from those of you who run it? What is your experience with time and so on....thanx

I am more of a fan or the topical version of accutane called stiefortrex.
It has isotrention in it, and you apply it on your skin after a shower. I find it works just as well for me. But yeah, the pills can be a bitch. your acne will get worse for the next few weeks, but will improve after that. your sebacious glands are shutting off and it will take a month or two for your skin to push the infections (zits) out....
I don't really have any advice to offer, just thought I would chime in with my experiences.

your like my brother he s got the back acne but hasn't done anything for it yet.
well i had ran accutane from before, through my experince i had good respond, it took me about 2 months to c it work my doc put me on 6 months treatment but i could only do 5 months the reason why i coudn't finish it is because of the side effects, dry lips, very dry skin, dudruff on my skull, dry nose and few other stuff plus the blood test i had to do every freaking month to c id my kidney r alright which was $ costy to poke a hole in my pocket. eventhough i told my doc i don't need it cause every time it was reading that my blood and cholesterol...etc r all stable but actualy to put him on safe side.
so after in middle of 4 months i cleared up, that was the only med i could respond to, i tried all that crap out there, including that bull shiiiiiit pro active and over the counter stuff nothing worked except the accutane.
hope this helps.

I've run accutane before and the sides sucked but by about the 2nd-3rd week my acne was fading fast on my face. I had to stop taking it because my blood work wasnt good while on and the doctor i had was a pansy and made me come off of it. But i hated having all the dry peeling looking skin but it was nice not having acne for a couple weeks

What dose are you taking? Stick with it for a while longer. Be sure to use A LOT of good moisturiser on your face, neck, etc. IMHO, anything more than 40mg per day w accutane is too much. Less is more. It will work, just give it time. Good luck.

i use a herb called pau d'arco, very cheap and works alot like accutane, it cuts down oil production and no side effects. a bottle is like 8bux and u can get it from meijers or any supplement store.

yes accutane is a permanent fix for the most part. People who take it for 6 months have like a 98% success rate i think in like 3 years so that means in 3 years only 2 out of every 100 people got a single pimple

I wouldn't go quite that far. I took it 10 years ago and my acne certainly did not go away permanently, especially after I started using steroids.

absolutely less is more, what i did was cycle, 40MG, AND 20MG, eod, now im at 20mg ed, been on for a few months and yes it got worse before it got better, but be patient it will come. I too tried everything under the sun, and nothing worked like accutane. I am interested in trying the accutane topical. Now im completely clean of gear so whether that is helping which im sure it is or not im not sure, but i am getting ready for a acne prone cycle of test en, tren ac, dbol,tbol...so that will be the real test....good luck and be patient....
