Hardest Sport
What do you guys thinkg is the hardest sport out there....for me i would have to say Wrestling....not the fake WWF stuff but college wrestling is by far the hardest sport and the worest thing is that you can be "pefect" like Cal Sanderson and after that there is nothing. No way to make a great living...I think that shows true love...what do you guys think.....

Hockey looks kinda hard. Well the most brutal are MMA fights and some of my Sambo matches which are basically the same thing.

Almost every multi-sport athlete that I have seen discuss this topic has said baseball. Of course they don't mean the hardest physically, but is the hardest to master the skill involved in the game.

the hardest workouts to get through without a doubt are for swimming, but competing isn't that hard.

I've played ice hockey for 8 years, baseball for 12 years, basketball for 8 years, and took wrestling in high school along with volleyball. Wrestling is by far the most physically demanding sport. You gotta maintain immense strength while struggling with dieting and losing weight. Energy on that kinda training is hard to come by and it takes it's toll.

I would say wrestling physically and baseball mentally.

Without question, grappling at collegiate level.

Badmitton or Bocci...Cross country Lawn Darts is pretty demanding....
Actually and all honesty, hockey is very very tough when it comes to the physical + endurance. A shift can feel like hours!
I'm doing Thai-Jitsu and it's unreal, 1 hour of torcher! I'm bruised bloody and loving it.
Wrestling was the same way.
Golf...is killer as far as skill. BAseball, it's hard to hit a pea at even 80mph! Because that's what the ball looks like.

I havent done many sports but I had the priveliged that one of the best wrestlers in his weightclass in the world(when he was at his prime ranked second in the world)was the coach in the club I wrestled in. god **** it the training was so intense, I started out as a obese untrained bastard and was decently lean after a couple of months no diet change whatsoever. Also went from not beeing able to run at all to be able to break the local basketball guys in cardio in just a few months.
I had nightmares about the training and I feel sic before them cause I knew what was waiting. Sometimes when we did excerices like running around carrying eachother and **** I accutaly almost cried out of exhaustion. I could hardly breath, just wanted to die cause of the pain, but our coach pushed us on more and more and more. I dont think Il be able to match that intensity again ever and I dont think il ever meet another person as intense as my coach.
He did 120 ****ing dips once. No bull**** I saw it with my own eyes and then he did 80 chins. The other guys said he could do more reps with weights hangíng when he was at his prime. Never seen anything ****ing like it ever.
During training he is realy sadistic and enjoys seeing people in pain(good pain offcourse)and to put himself through pain, the joy could be seen in his eyes when we struggled and he pushed us on. But when not training he is very nice and kind.

MMA and colegiate wrestling are by far the toughest, most thankless sports on the planet. Both of these sports are high contact, involve intense cutting to make weight, and place you in a high-risk category for back and neck injuries. On top of that you would be lucky to obtain even a mediocre amount of compensation for a high-level athelete excelling at either of these 2 sports.

hockey, anybody can walk or run but the foundation of the sport is skating and the skills involved on top of that makes it the hardest sport....now, i will give credit to wrestlers for the demands placed on their body...i always gave my wrestling friends credit for that

hardest sport
MMA/wrestling without a doubt. You have to endure punches, knees, elbows, submissions.....etc. Doing this all while being in superb cardio. Imagine running while someone is strike, kicking and shooting for a single. When you train till you puke from physical exhuastion and pain from being hit or choked out.....sorry.......baseball doesn't even come close. Wrestling and MMA are very techinal and cerebal sports. Contrary to peoples belief. Its a physicall game of chees w/serious consequences. Definatley MMA.

i played football, baseball and wrestled, and out of those, i think wrestling is, not the gay wwf crap, but real, but if anyone considers BBing a sport, then id say BBing.
-
02-25-2004, 02:03 PM #24
I think bb ing is one of the most demaning sports mentaly with the constant eating ect! and all the knoweledge needed to plan diets and good workouts ect. Its a whole ****ing science. Its hard because we do it alone, no coaches or **** like that! but the most taxing physicaly is wrestling imo.

I've been in Martial arts for years, so I'm a bit biased when it comes to these new hardcore full contact fights. As for wrestling I did a little of that in High School. So its a toss up for me physically and mentally with those two sports.
The irony about some of those WWE types is that some of them were excellent amatur wrestlers (i.e., Chris Benoit, Scott Steiner, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesner, etc). So ya gotta know that with there life styles of trying to stay in shape and a heavy travel schedule that they finally deserve the money they make!

baseball is automatically taken out of consideration because anyone has a chance to make it if you just stick it out. only in baseball can you have a slob like dave wells, cecil fielder, mo vaughn etc..... actually be productive players. hell, wells said he was half drunk when he threw a perfect game and dock ellis claimed to throw a no-hitter while tripping on acid. do you guys think marino could have thrown a 400 yard game while tripping? exactly, if you can get through the boredom of baseball and are somewhat of decent athlete you got a shot. plus they actually allowed juice up until just a little bit ago. now NFL running back is the hardest thing to do in sports, these guys run 4.4 40's squat around 600lbs block, catch and when they are handed the ball 20-25 times a game have to avoid getting killed by 11 monsters. what would you rather do take an at bat from randy johnson or get hit by ray lewis? BTW golf isnt a sport its a skill anything that you can do while drinking beers is automatically not a sport more examples are billiards, darts, bowling and on and on. these "skills" are tough to be good at but you can play them drunk and are therefore automatically not a sport.....just my 2 cents
