Most tiring sport?
In my opinion boxing is the most tiring sport in the world. Its truly incredible how they are able to go 12 rounds, 36 minutes of not only throwing punches but taking them as well.
Some other sports would be soccer, tennis and basketball. Just my opinion.
What do you guys think?

Any kind of fighting would be extremely tiring, as well as long distance running. Chasing the ball in tennis is no picnic, either.

Seriously, anything you can do while eating and drinking is not a sport. Also, anything done in a sitting position is not a sport.
Sports include hockey, tennis, basketball, etc. Bowling, car racing, golf, etc. don't count. (I like racing, but it's just not an athletic event.)

1.soccer 2. motocross
studies as old as twenty years ago showed supercross/motocross riding is second to soccer. VO2 data was used among other tests. Basketball was third, but would be first if the game was non-stop.

i agree with motocross being the most demanding.

as a pro water polo athlete
i dare anyone to walk home, or more then a mile, after a game....
even juiced it is close to impossible....
(at pro level)
i rowed and its hard it lasts about 5-7 minutes
i swam... 50m free... its about 20-25 seconds
i played rugby, tough very very tough but you are on your naturel ground.. no wasting energy while resting
water polo game is about 45-60min and in pro world, teams are 13 players 6+goalie.. so only 5 subs.. extreemly demanding and physical...
water effect is just icing on the cake...

Actually wrestling is another sport I forgot to mention. My friends a wrestler and it is as intense as it gets. They are incredible athletes in my opinion.
Also, I got into boxing in september and am a registered amateur fighter and boxing just beats the crap out of me. After a workout I am done. LOL.
And also, as mentioned earlier rowing and water polo are also extremely demanding sports. What a workout!!Last edited by ectomorph28; 03-22-2007 at 07:38 AM.

The answer would be like a tie among many sports, because the best athletes in those sports will be doing their sport at a level of intensity that is about as tiring as a human body can handle. Triathlon, boxing, marathons, cycling, tennis, wrestling, cross-country skiing, swimming, water polo are all among the good answers to this question.

Wrestling.
It may only be 3 periods equaling 6-7 minutes total but it is the most tiring 6-7 minutes I think I will ever encounter in my life.

Im not a wrestler but have grappled with friends before and it is very tiring, same with boxing, me and a buddy went out and boxed with 16 oz gloves and were done after like 3 mins, insane.
And I can deff see how motocross would be up there, your entire body is ingaged the whole time to control the bike/ havent you guys ever went water skiing or even tubeing? kinda the same thing.

I used to run cross country, its not that tiring, just more mental than physical,
Hell I even ran a meet high one time, maybe thats just me though.

played hockey for a living. played all the other major sports growing up. even raquetball, some tennis. NOTHING, and i mean NOTHING breaks me down like boxing. of course when you are out of shape anything different can seem like a chore. i'm talking when i am in absolute top shape, boxing still breaks me down. hard to imagine some of the 15 round wars of days gone by. never did any of the mma stuff. i know i break balls sometimes, on those guys, but it's all in good fun. i would imagine thats no picnic either.

Espn ranked all the sports that are commonly played. They ranked them on a weighted average based on things needed like, toughness, strength, endurance, brains etc... Boxing was ranked at the very top of the list.
check it. Google "toughest sport in the world"Last edited by rock357; 04-12-2007 at 08:58 AM.

wrestling, boxing and trying to reel in a marlin in deep sea fishing.
i think a Navy seal works harder than all.

I agree deep sea fishing can be very tough. Its hard to decide on a single sport that is the most tiring. In my opinion, marathons, long distance swimming, rowing, basketball, soccer.

i agree w/ the water polo, i think anyting in the water is the most tiring... but swimming is definately one of the hardest... because it works your whole core and body, boxing just works upper body mostly, wrestling works whole core but you dont have to move through water, try wrestling in water, thats freakin hard...

Motorcross is extremely demanding. The abuse it puts on your body is unreal. It's a young person's sport. Most motorcross racers retire before or shortly after turning 30. Aside from having amazing talent, it all comes down to conditioning.
I will agree Road racing doesn't take the most endurance. I do both and motorcross is way more demanding.
My vote goes to boxing.
