    I don't think it's that weak. Each year there's never a for-sure leader. It's always a close race which is awesome. One team is never dominating over another.

    Cubs spend the money. What it takes is a good farm system then eventually build around the team. Now that the cubs have great young talent, they will build around the young ones. They won't make the same mistake with Prior as they did Maddux. If that were the case, Sammy would of been gone long ago. All divisons have weak teams.

    The last time the Cubs put together back-to-back winning seasons was 1972 -- before starting pitchers Kerry Wood and Mark Prior were even born. ----NBC sports
