Shoulder Injury
Just went to a shoulder specialist for my torn labrum and he gave me a band to do some exercises similar to the ones Doc.Sust posted. I told him that I could do everything fine but it only bothers me when I do heavy bench or wide fly’s. He also mentioned that since I wasn’t in a lot of pain and I could move my shoulder in which ever direction he wanted me to without discomfort that I should build up my rotator cuff before I start lifting (light) again. I was glad to hear that I didn’t need surgery just yet, but to try and build up my rotator cuff to see if the pain goes away and if not to go back and see about getting a cortisone shot. Any comments….?

I dont know about the cortisone shot ask your doctor but I belive while it will help with the inflamation and pain it will also weaken the tendon.

cj is right it will weaken your tendons and ligaments in your shoulder but if youve never had one before it shouldnt be a problem i had gotten a cortizone shot after my surgery when i tore my rotator cuff off the bone and it helped wonders it felt 50% better before i even left the doctors office and the pain never came back as bad as it was before the shot but be extremely careful lifting if you do get one
