get some shaving gel that is used to sensitive skin and if you do it in the shower wet your body and let it set in for a while and itll make for a softer shave...i dont shave my chest but i do this for my face and it REALLY makes the difference
use edge advance ultra sensitive comes in a purple container
or try nair
yes soap it up than apply a hot thick skin lotion instead of shaving cream, use a sharp razor and shave all the hairs off first going with the grain than slowy against the grain while rinsing the blades thoroughly. I usually buzz my chest with an electric razor once a week and dont even use blades unless i plan on getting close with some chick. its better to use blades when your hair has been growing in for at least 3 or 4 days as shaving your chest too much like you face will irritate the crap out of it and than come the bumps and pimples. if using an aftershave i suggest oldspice alchohol free as its the best aftershave on the market no joke.Quote:

exfoliate.. it will get rid of the dead skin and make for less bumps and rashes
nah the only way to avoid ingrown hairs is to not shave it so close. Use a clipper with no gaurd, and you'll still look clean, and only get an ingrown hair once in a while.
hence the reason why i try not to use blades as often as possible, short buzzers and screen shavers are best imoQuote:

it's a watery sandy mixture you rub all over your body. I get mine at a bath and body works store at the mall. They make some good smelling stuff, but it dose'nt seem to help me very much. Though it is good for you skin for sure. Gets dead skin off your body.Quote:

Good Luck!
tendskin after, works wonders for ingrown hair
i use to get bad razor burn, this is my new method..
Shower
Scrub your chest with a Luffa
Invest in some bodyscrub/bath salt and use that
Then massage shaving cream, and shave with direction of hair
moisturize it
baby powder it
I found that an electric razor works best for me. No irritation and rarely a ingrown hair. Its simple and quick.
I found a post here a long time ago about home made TendSkin, and use it. It's been great for avoiding red bumps and ingrown hairs, but then, my skin is way too dry. I can't find a moisturizer that keeps me from breaking out. It's like it's one or the other. moist skin with zits, or dry skin with no zits. What about you guys?
damn a clipper w/ no guard will leave you prickly as hell, hope your not coming into contact w/ a woman anytime soon! my wife cant stand when Im prickly. BIGTRAPS, does it hurt like holy hell when you get waxed or what? I want to get it done but it seems very painful after a few strips?????no?
What i have that works very well, is it keep it consistent shaving your chest, do it every Monday, Tuesday, or whatever, even if it is just a littel bit to keep your skin tough.
This the steps i use to shave it, i use to get really bad razor burn and rash, but i havnt gotten any in a while
1) Use bodysalt/scrub
2) Loufa
3) Old Spice Pre Shave wash stuff w/ Tea Tree Oil
4) Shave
5) Moisturize with Aveno
6) Babypower
Does Aveeno not clog pores and cause zits?
I dunno, Aveeno is just a really good moisturizer.
I finally found a solution! I scrapped the TendSkin, because it made my skin too dry and flaky, and any moisturizer I bought felt like I was rubbing tar on my skin, and caused tons of zits...So, I went out on a limb, and bouthg a pump bottle of cheap 100% aloe vera gel. The kind you get at Wal-Mart for like $3 for sunburns, and just started rubbing in in after each shower. Voila! No more dry skin, no more zits, and it doesn't feel so heavy, either. Just my two-cents worth.
p.s. its not zits its razor burn bruh
i used to get shaving spots and ingrowing hairs quite alot when shaving my chest and stomach. now i use moisteriser every day on the area, and havent even had a spot for ages
The stuff I use for my chest is the same thing my ex g/f used for her legs. It requires no shaving. Just apply and leave then wash off. Think it is called "veet"
Any time I've used moisturizer, i.e. Jergens, Neutrogena, whatever, i tend to get a lot of ingrowns in the middle of my chest, the bends of my arms, my inner thights, and right in my groin area. They resemble zits, but I was educated yesterday, that they're razor burn, but I'm still not so sure.
