Been years since i used to shave my head, but i used a regular razor and no gel. If you can get a friend to use a shaving knife do it.

when i shve my head i go as close as i can with the buzzer like a zero or something than i shower or just get my head wet to moisten the stubble and i use some sensitive aloe gel,and then ill use a mach 3 razor, why all this mess? well if i dont ill get a bunch on cuts and razor burn you gotta realize your scalps not used to getting shaved after a cuople of times than i normally just use a gillete but first i let my scalp tuoghen up, you might need some help getting a good shave last thing you want is patches on your scalp,i get my wife to do it most of the time

    Same here.

I shave it with a razor once in a while but it looks better with the clippers IMO

I dont shave my head yet, but i find that if i dump the shaving gel and just use conditioner as shaving cream i have alot less problems.

Try it out sometime, really softens the hair and allows a close shave

Budda makes a great point. In theory, its sound good. I guess the next time I shave the head, I'll give it a try.

Anyone use a straight blade? I've been contemplating but am worried about having patches of razor burn or improper shave-age.

I shave mine daily and use the Mach III turbo with Edge shaving get w/ extra protection. Never tried the straight blade though but you really don't need to if you use the Mach!

Run your head under very warm water to soften the hair, then apply shave gel. Shave with the grain until you've gotten used to shaving it. I personally don't like shaving against the grain because of ingrown hairs.
