1 week after the cortison shot, and nothing!

    Hello,
Was the cortison shot into my disc in the lower back a waste of time? Or how much time should I expect to pass before the pain is relieved?
I did not have any high hopes before I got the shot, but I thought it might be worth a shot. Especially since everything else has been useless.

I've had cortisone to the knee before and the pain relief is usually immediate.

Herniation or Bulge? MAny disc problems are now being fixed with heat coil, Laser, and I think thay have a chemical they can inject now. All of these result in a little harder, smaller disc.

I have had several cortizone shots in the back over the years. Relief is immediate but temporary and fades with time. They did not solve my problem......simply a temporary band-aid fix.

A cortisone injection will temporarily relieve the pain but not cure the problem. You could do more damage to the area because you can't feel the pain that the injury is causing.
