Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, THAT IS STRENGTH

actually it is a valid question. any type of striation can take away from the look of hardness and definition. Have several friends who are in professional competitions on a regualr basis who've told me a little here and there. although it may be a very minute thing, it is still something to think about.

I have stretch marks all over my biceps and where my pecs meet my shoulders. It's horrible and I hate it, and since I'm dark they look almost neon . Anyway, all that helps is more tanning, it helps it to blend in a bit.

definitely trying to keep moisturized is the way to go...the more supple you can keep the skin the more it can stretch without too much trauma...but if you are growing really quickly you may not be able to do much about it...if you are tanning, self tanner rubbed on helps blend them into the surrounding area and make them less noticeable...

    follow up....

i was doing some reading on medscape about retin a.....it can be used to help diminish the appearance of the stretch marks once they do form....here's a bit from the clinical review article:

Hypertrophic Scars, Keloids, Acne Scars, and Striae
Increased epidermal proliferation and new collagen formation contribute to the improvement of hypertrophic scars, keloids, and acne scars (Verschoore, 1993). In an open-label, multicenter, prospective study, topical tretinoin 0.1% significantly improved the clinical appearance of pregnancy-induced stretch marks (Rangel, Arias, Garcia, & Lopez-Padilla, 2001). Striae originating from weight gain or endocrine-related disorders could likewise benefit from the use of topical retinoid therapy.
    hope this helps.....
