    Too much sex bad?

    I overheard some trainer in my gym comment that having to much sex or whacking off can actually be detrimental to strength training and bulking cycles. I thought he was kidding but he was dead serious. He gave me some discourse on how it was related to protein depletion, and how our semen is composed of protein etc. Did some research but couldnt find a definite answer. But i found out that most boxers and even Muhammad Ali would abstain form sex 3 weeks prior a fight? Any basis? Just curious.

    i have no scientific evidence about this, but think about what your asking man....no sex just to look good???? i mean if your getting paid for something and it really matters that much to you if you can abstain go for it. i dont think there is any reason to and not having sex is like not eating 6 meals a day.....i would never ever stop doing it even if the president told me not to do it.

    I hear ya bro! i wouldnt give it up for anything I was just wondering if their was any basis for the statement. Whatever the case.......il definetely cut down the number of dates i have with mr. rightie!!

    I can see how no sex would make boxers meaner, but other than that, no, orgasms will not affect your training.
    He's probably thinking that when you ejaculate, you lose hormones along with everything else, leaving you with less testosterone in your system to grow with. It's a myth that goes back jillions of years, but there's no truth to it.
    So whack away all you want, make your coach happy by telling him you don't (better yet, tell him it's none of his **** business, because it isn't; he could get into deep legal doo-doo by asking kids about their sexual habits.

    They've done test that show that it might actually help since it relaxes you and helps you recouperate better. The new Muscle and fitness has an article on it.

    I got a new gf when I was on my last bulking cycle and we were doing it over 5 times a day for like 3 weeks straight (not lying neither... I thought my guy would fall off at one point from overuse). Anyway... I just upped my calory intake due to the extra cardio and actually put on 10lbs during those 3 weeks and my strengh just kept on climbing

    getting off tends to make me a happier guy So then I can concentrate better at the gym and hit the weights real hard.

    Well said. Also having sex or jerkin off or just ejaculating in general helps prevent prostate cancer and other types of prostate diseases.

    The question that has plagued mankind for centuries. Who cares, as long as your strapping it up, bang away. Also, I read an interview with Lenix Lewis and he wouldn't have sex few weeks before fights because he said it slows his reflexes. I haven't followed up on that myself, but I would imagine he knows what he's talking about.

    BS bro...having sex/jerking off actually raises test levels not drops them so I really don't think your personal trainer knows what he's talking about.

    it is true your natural test level will rise but i will say the only time i got to pork the other half is when she is not working or on one of my off days, but when you are working out 1 1/2 hrs to 2 a day then pound ur girl 3 times a day it can drain you like today i was weak on chest and tris just couldn't get a pump but i also had about a total of 4hrs of intercourse the night before, so i was wipped out, What can us guys do gotta LOVE the pink.

    Id get a new personal trainer if I were you. You can never have too much sex.. You actually burn calories, its great for the prostate, and it has been proven that having alot of sex, will make your little guy bigger!
