B vitamins
I was wondering if someone could give me a quick summary on B vitamins. I heard they are overrated and i also heard they are the best vitamin for a bodybuilder. Anyone have any experience with them?
thanks

The B-complex vitamins are actually a group of eight vitamins, which include thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6), folic acid (B9), cyanocobalamin (B12), pantothenic acid and biotin. These vitamins are essential for:
The breakdown of carbohydrates into glucose (this provides energy for the body)
The breakdown of fats and proteins (which aids the normal functioning of the nervous system)
Muscle tone in the stomach and intestinal tract
Skin
Hair
Eyes
Mouth
Liver
In short they help your body absorb the essential nutrients and vitamins in your daily intake.

B-12 (injectable works best) will make you hungry as a mother... Look at universalkits.com. I think they sell it...

Another use for b-12 is to inject it in the same syringe as the steroids your taking, it takes alot of the pain of injection away.

B-vitamins taken orally are not that great, they have a much better effect when injected, at least b-6 and b-12.

Really? I was under the impression that it was somehow broken down allot when taken orally as compared to not getting broken down much at all when injected.

It's great to have b6 as well because it helps to make hemoglobin and the amount of oxygen carried to the hemoglobin. B12 is used to make DNA and hydrochloric acid in the stomach releases B12 from protein during digestion. Once released, B12 combines with a substance called intrinsic factor (IF) before it is absorbed into the bloodstream. Those are the primary reasons I supplement with a high profile B vitamin.

I just wanted to point out that people will either go one way or the other with comments in regards to taking orally or injecting sub-q with b vitamins. I don't believe there is one really solid answer. I personally don't like the extra injections, so I go with capsules. You've just got to do what works for you all. Sorry if I try to sound like a father on this, just my opinion.

You just inject b-12 or b-6 sub-cutaneuously? You don't need to inject it intramuscularly

is there anyway to use it sublingually (under the tongue)?

that´s interesting,I´ve just read about a Vit. B-Complex medication with B1,B6&B12,and they´re altogether more potent than alone, good for nerval innervation of muscles and have a direct analgestic effect probably to an effect in the Hippocampus(?),B1 is important for glucosemetabolism, also for
using carbs for energy,etc,B6 as said and B12 are good for erythropoesis,...
and you need them,if you ´re building up new tissue especially new cells.

I don't know about other guys here, but I am using the b12 w/ the last two weeks of test prop to minimize pain, increase appetite, and give energy. However, I also use a vitamin B-complex vitamin everyday. As far as I am concerned, they are essential for all bodybuilders. These vitamins are used for many things, and the liver will store a 3-5 year supply of cyanocobalamin which will keep you from getting pernicious anemia. With cell turnover though you need more, and I don't want to risk it anyway. And as a last note, any B vitamin that you don't need, you will piss out anyway. This is why your urine turns neon yellow when you take them.
