need to take digestive enzymes, is something wrong with my body?
I used to get gassy with the protein shakes no matter how long I took them, my body never just got used to it...My friend suggested taking digestive enzymes to help, and they certainly have...my question is this...does that mean that there is something wrong with my body that it cannot digest the protein properly or is this a common problem (gas)??
I do not have any medical problems with my kidneys, liver and so on...Does anyone else take digestive enzymes just to help??
Im just wondering if im gonna have to be dependent on these things, is that a bad thing??

It is common but you can take digestive enzymes to help with the gas. Personally I think the nasty protein bombs are funny unless you are in a social situation where you can't just blast away at will.

I've had the same problem. what type of protein shake do you drink- it might not be you that is the problem- some shakes just have a lot of added crap that most humans cannot digest properly.
Try this, I promise you it will work.
Switch to a PURE WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE shake.
not whey protein concentrate.
the isolate has less lactose in is and is easier to digest (it's purest and already partially digested for you).
Added plus- since it is a more pure form of whey, your body will absorb and utilize it better.

i used to take Designer whey, then i went to isopure, even with that i still got the same way...I went back to designer whey and took the enzymes and im fine..
im just wondering if that means I have some type of defect that i cant digest the protein right or if its alright

JMO, but I don't think its a defect at all. I've always assumed it was from the ridiculously large amounts of protein that we eat during the day. This can't be "normal" although I'm sure some can probably do it better than others. What kind of enzymes were they? I might even give it a shot.

in my opinion, designer whey is the worst protein product out there. It fu**S my stomach up big time--
It has so many unnatural added things in it...I don't know how anybody can digest it.
What enzymes are you taking by the way. Maybe I'll try them.

the enzymes I take are from Vitamin World...thats where i work...They are called "Multi-Enzyme Formula" caps, they also have it in a super strength formula as well, but the regular enzymes seem to do the trick for me...not really expensive, of course i get them way cheaper, but regular price is like 9 bucks for a bottle of 100 capsules
