    question about casein protein?

    just clarifying something I read but not sure about

    Casein protein is good before you go to bed because of it slow release? is that correct?

    And whey is good for before and after workouts because of fast action? correc?

    Casein is the protein in diary products, which takes about 4 hours to digest. whey is not even protein really, its amino acids, which when combined make up proteins. because the body does not have to break down the protein (your giving it just amino's) it passes straight through the stomach and enters the intestines where it is either absorbed or discarded. so yes, whey is absorbed quickly and casein is not
