I had problems with my elbow a few times. I'd use some sportscreme or bengay until the glucosamine kicks in. Also doesn't flax seed oil help with the joints?

All of the customers who have told me it helps all said it takes about 2 months to
work. Other customers took it for that long & said they noticed nothing. I took it for
    10 weeks & didn't notice much.
As for a dose, at least 1500mg per day.

I can tell you from first hand experience that this stuff works and works well. There was a point in my life when I had no access to supplements and during this period I blew my left rotator cuff or damaged my left shoulder very badly doing behind the neck pull ups......I was not able to do even a single push up without severe pain......so needless to say a year went by before I was able to have supplements again and the first thing I boought was Glucosamine/Chondroitin...and after going a year with severe pain it only took about 2 months tops until I was pretty much fully recovered other than my shoulder grinding ocasionaly.....

Try and find a product that is glucosamine and chondroitin, because this combination is very effective, dosage wise 1000mg glucosamine and 800mg chondroitin will do the trick. As for time it usually takes about 6-10 weeks to kick in.
