well, a recent post says that creatine and caffeine are counter-productive.. but i take green tea extract and it has guarana (natural caffeine), is it ok to take these on the same day? if so, how far apart should i take them?

I'd say a couple hours or more....
I think you should let your past experience dictate this. I have taken creatine while not monitoring caffeine often before, and have always noticed a definite effect of creatine. If anything, I think the biggest factor when using creatine (I don't do the loading part however) is using it consistently, 7 days per week. The research cited in the previous post on creatine and caffeine involves a sample size of 9 men, and specifically mentions creatine loading. This sample is way too small to make inferences with.
I take 400 or so mgs of caffiene pre workout with creatine, and as long as I make an extra effort to stay hyrdated, Im fine.
