    Sugar Replacement..............

During the course of my life i've been stricken with the sweet tooth
until recently i asked myself,"there has to be some kind of replacement that'll kill the craving and replace that temporary sugar rush". At times when i dont get enough sugar, i get weak, and tired....my diets been 40/40/30
my question is, is there a replacement for sugar, something more natural?
    i'd appreciate your help bro's

You can still take in sugars like you enjoy. It's more of a question of timing than which sugars to take. Dextrose is very sweet, but when ingested at the right time can have a very anabolic effect. Learn more about diet and timing to learn when you can use your sweet tooth to help you build muscle.

Testo: Right before the workout isn't the best idea, you might experience rebound hypoglycemia. You should ingest complex carbs during the day leading up to your workout instead.

Dirty: Learn a little about nutrition in the diet forum and you'll know when the right time is. One point in time is immediately PWO.

so ast .com site is wrong? They say to take before and after. I thought that was odd.

If its written by the supplement company you have to suspect that it might simply be propaganda to push their products. I only trust independent third party studies and views.

you of all people have never heard of AST

yes, its a supplement company, and even though their ultimate goal is to push their own products as much as humanly possible, they do have a pretty good FREE training program and some nice reasearch.

    As for the original question:

You dont need sugar in order to feel engergized, just some quality complex carbs such as oatmal, brown rice, yams, whole wheat anything, etc.

If its the taste your after, splenda is made from sugar, but contains no sugar. So far, there havent been any studies to show anything negative about it, but a new product becomes "cancer causing" every day, so....

As for the dextrose issue...I use it PWO only, mixed 50/50 with maltodextrin at a 2:1 ratio with my protein shake. I dont use it pre-workout, but i eat a lot of oatmeal for breakfast, as well as my 2nd meal of the day, which is pre-workout, along with a medium banana.

I didn't realize it until i searched for AST on google what it was. As i have a bottle of AST R-ala on top of my computer desk. Honestly I don't know why i didn't remember what company it was, aside of the fact that i haven't bought anything from them in a long time.

yea, they are not a major company outside of online forums. You never see them in mags or GNC or anything.
