    Question Protien Shakes

    Hey I work out everyday at my high school and I take whey protien. Usally in the morning with my breakfast and then i take it when i get home from school. I know your supposed to take it right after you work out but I work out at 10:55 to 11:55 and i take a shake at 3:15. Is this period inbettween too long? thanks

    If it is at all possible it is best to take with in 30 mins (that is what works best for me) after workout but what is that old saying oh ya
    better late than never!!!!
    When you take it also depends on you are your body. Everyone is different just because some things is recommended or works for others does not mean it will work for you. If it is possible to take right after work out try it and see what works for you. Good Luck bro

    bro drink it right after you finish your last set, there is a small window of time you have to feed your body the nutrients it need to shift from catabolic to anabolic , the later being the prefered. I drink mine as soon as I finish my last set, and then eat a big meal an hour later. Breakfast, postworkout, and post-postworkout are the 3 most important meals of the day. By skipping them your hard work and training will only suffer.

    If you can't mix a shake right away because you're at school, then try bringing a protein bar. Met-Rx has some good ones. Just an idea.....

    Bro, postworkout is one of the most important meals of the day if not the most important. Mix up the shake before you go to the gym and put it in a bottle. Drink it within 30'. Add some malt or dextrose to the whey.

    That's too long to wait . You have about a 30 minute window of opportunity to take in some protein postworkout for best results.
