I have bad knees but all I ever take is ibuprofen. My problem is more of a cartilage problem that causes swelling. I'll eventually get surgery when my knees get bad enough. Have you been to a doctor for advice?

I'd try taking Glucosamine Sulafte. I had my knee scoped in March and started pounding the Glucosamine about a week after the surgery and I felt it helped make the joint itsef feel alot better. I also had my shoulder reconstructed last year and took it for that and I feel that it helped out alot as well. As for anti-inflamitories, has anyone ever tried Vioxx?.......this is wicked stuff, super easy on the stomach as well!

Osteo arthritis is degenerative joint disease, caused first through genetic predisposition and secondly from excessive wear and tear on the joints. When I first started training and bb (like 20 years ago) I never warmed up properly, and as a result have some additional wear and tear to go along with the horrible genetic predisposition to osteo. Anyway, after seeing a specialist and doing every test known, the result was just that...the beginning stages of osteo. Fortuately I have built solid quads, hams and my joint is very strong. So I have used celebrex, Viox and plain Alieve. I have always used the glucosamine and I've added MSM (naural sulfur)and cetylmeristoleate (to lubricate) the joints. The result has been a gradual improvement. I use medication only when necessary (it's been over a month), and I warm up a lot better (like 20:00). Be very careful about the deca ...it will help short term but not permanantly. don't overdue it. Be careful and take it easy.
