I don't have the articles handy, but I remember reading how a while back doctors used to give intravenous arginine/ornithine to elucidate whether proper GH function existed (ie if GH was released then ok, if not then no). This is the basis of arg/orn supplements. as a supplement, there is no proof that it works. It could be amounts are too small, or that the oral pathway deactivates the effect.
