Post workout dillema
I am NOT buying gatorade bottles everyday for post workout for the dextrose and i cant buy them online cuz i dont have a credit card.
To make it short, I dont have access to them.
I DO have access to whey protein (optimum vanilla) and take it after workouts. Now, to refuel my muscle glycogen, is it ok if I mix it with 1/2C oats?

Big Dan,
No flame but, bro you ask 1,000,000 diet and nutrition questions. There's nothing wrong with that but, you've been here for a while and should know this stuff by now.
However if this is not the case then with the amount of questions you ask you should just go to the library and check out a good sports diet and nutrition book.
Now I've read alot of your threads/post so I know your an inteligent kid but you need to do some reasearch for your self.
Again I'm not trying to come down on you I just think you could answer most if not all of your own questions with a little research.
Stay Strong,

for post work out get some dextrose, the shit is cheep-- you can get like a 11lbs for 10-15 bucks. you can afford that. thats like a 2 weeks supply of your gatorade or apple juice or whatever you keep on buying.
Can I ask you this, why do you insist on oats?? and granola bars<< these were i your previous posts of your diets.abstrack@protonmail.com

I know listen , my diet is reformulated and i do know my stuff, it just so happens that i was brainwashed into a runners diet by my family because it would work. Long story.
Anyway, i know you need to spike insulin to prevent cortisol and you need to refuel muscle glycogen.
My question is this.
Since Im taking whey protein (prevent muscle catabolism) and oats (refuel muscle glycogen) is this alright?

It's ok, not the optimal choice with the oats. You can get dextrose at the grocery store, and if not there are MUCH better choices like grape juice or some sort of fruit juice. Even fruit is a better choice than oats.

Yep... a high GI carb is what you need, and fast. You have around a 15-20 window after your workout to refuel deplated glycogen levels and give your body some building blocks (protein) to work with in order to begin the recovery process.
The bro's are on key. I would highly recommend dextrose (corn sugar) along with your whey protein, and maybe some creatine post-workout.
You'll want to mix your post workout drink with water.. I usually take a plastic water bottle to the gym with my protein, dextrose, and creatine in it. I just add water after my workout and sip it on my way home.
Dextrose is definately the way to go... it's dirt cheap. Go to a bulk store, you can pick up a two/three week supply for under 5$.

OK I decided to get dextrose. The thing is, my gym sells powerade at $2 a bottle, and thats too much. GNC doesnt carry it. Where can I buy dextrose, not online please! At publix??
Also, would gatorade/powerade mix work for high gi carbs? (Its got maltodextrin, although i dont know if its single or branch chained which affects the gi). Help me out, what do you think.

Actually mixing it with OATS will work out ok. I used to mix chocolate MYOPLEX with QUAKER OATMEAL and a packet of SWEET-N-LOW. Tastes great and gets the recuperation started.
