    What is dextrose

    Whats up guys Iwas told I need dextrose right after my workouts .What is it and I was told to take it becouse of the carbs it has.Now if I cant get it for awhile could I get the carbs from say a apple or some other until I get the dextrose?Peace CDOG

    Not really, apples have a much lower GI value, therefor you wouldn't get as big of an insulin spike post workout with apples. And that is what you are looking for.

    Dextrose is glucose sugar... for us the purpose of dextrose is a speedy way to get glucose into our body and involved in ATP regeneration. The best times for this is after morning cardio and after workout.
    Becuase you have used your gyocgen stores in your muscles for energy after workout you want to give you body a source of fuel until you get food digested. By intaking dextrose after either training sessions you will have given your body a temporary fuel to continue moving and operating until you can feed. best mix would by a dextrose pro-tein blend zero carb immediatly after then 30min to 1hr get your carbs & pro-tein in your gut... the pro-tein/dextrose blend will insure fuel for muscle operation and muscle food so to prevent any catabolic effect..

    Dextrose is produced by the enzyme conversion of corn starch and then refined by ion-exchange demineralization.

    Most of those pros have had help from nutritionist's that are geared towards AAS supp. Or their well versed bros... Didn't Ronnie graduate magna cum luade?(I probably spelt that wrong)

    Iam not sure about honey I ended up geting dextrose .But regardless honey or dextrose you need about 85carbs and 50grams of protein right after your workout.So for me a take a 3/4 cup of dextrose mixed with my protein if you are useing honey you might want to see how many carbs per tsp and as long as you are geting around 85 carbs you should be ok.Peace CDOG

    I have never seen it flavored, but I guess you could add some sugar free crystal light (or any other non-cal drink mix) and make your own flavors and not screw up the macros of the dex. You will be adding some acid to it so if you are doing CDK diet that could mess you up.

    CDOG....no need to order it online. Just drop into your local home brewing store. They usually sell it in 5lb bags (2.2kg) for $2.00 ($3.00 cdn). 2 scoops of whey + 1 scoop of dextrose immediately after traiining and youi are good to go.
