    Post workout shaker

    Hello buddies !

After some research (thanks for the threads), I'm making my cutting diet that I'll publish to get your opinion tonight.
A last answer is missing for me, I'm wondering which carbs supplement use in my post workout shaker.

I read so many different opinions, articles about malto, dextrose, virtago, that I'm now a bit lost to plan my diet as perfectly as possible.

Can i have your opinion please ? and if possible an explanation of why should I use the one you mentionned ?

    Thanks in advance,
    Muggle

If you're cutting, I would avoid any carb sources from Maltodextrin, dextrose, fructose or even lactose. I don't do shakes so I have no suggestions on products. I'm sure others will chime in soon.

Thanks for your answer, but according to 101 cutting diet, I should split my carbs contributions in 3 ways, meal 1, pre and post workout, ofc I thought to use low indice carbs as brown rice and oats for meal1 and pre, but heard that some high indice carbs after workout could be really interesting.

^ It's always good to split your macros throughout the day, but that does not affect your results. Just get your macronutrients in before the end of the day. Splitting is good so that you don't get hungry often, otherwise, there are no "Windows of opportunity" that you need to follow with macros.

Wow. Way too much sugar. Is that largely from the waxy maize or choice of protein?

what's wrong with just eating a good old fashioned banana?

why does everything have to come from GNC?

even their shaker cups are garbage.

I try to never go in, hate it when I walk in and some skinny 22 year old kid that looks like maybe one year in the gym tries to earn my confidence by the old "you look great" and then sell me some garbage he personally has not tried.

I just singled out GNC. I was referring to pretty much any retail supplement store.

I agree TR. I have tried to cut all shakes out except the post workout but that is mainly due to convience. I dont care for cold meals so a shake works great PWO.

I make my own, I take a small little hand cooler with my shake, yogurt and a sandwich. I drink my shake when I get in my car then eat my stuff. I bring a Gal. jug of water to the gym to drink while I train 25% frozen water for cooling. When I go to the gym it's like I'm going camping. Lets not forget my workout bag also ...crazy mike

No sugar in the whey or the waxy maize. The carbo lean has it. I guess it never really bothered me, does nobody else consume glucose/sugar post workout to spike insulin levels?

I personally drink fruit smothie post work out. 5 DL grapejuice 100g blueberries, 100g raspberries. To the shake I also add 20g pure dextrose for the insulin spike. This way I get most of my carbs one time every day and it works great for me!

You can try it out.. it's also super delicious afer a good workout!!

I also have another shake with 2 scoops whey ofc to get my protein afterwards!!

Can you show me scientific evidence (meaning don't reference me to the latest article in Muscle Fitness) where "insulin spikes" increase performance?

insulin spike does not increase/improve performance. just moves nutrients into cells more quickly.

Guess I'm swapping my water back to milk for my immediate post shake. Always have same size scoop. But half shakes worth of fluid as I eat within 20-30 mins.

Anyone come up with like a puuurree. Ingredients shake here yet. I think aust was working on one. Was it finished. Ima bulk order all the ingredients n make my own pure shake n **** what it tastes like. I'll take l citrulline dry n knock it back with water. That shits some strong ass shit hahs. Great pre workout. Don't measure it. Just half teaspoon. N get in!! VISIBLY see the difference lol
