    NAC is great!

Just wanted to thumbs up Nac. I have been waging a war with chronic sinusitis for almost a decade. It comes and it goes. I also train Jiu jitsu, if anyone has sinusitis they can brush and floss 20 times a day the dragon breath just lingers. I've tried everything, antibiotics, netti pot, honey, lemon, apple cider vinegar (not fun)...

Been taking nac at 1200mg a day morning and night with some vitamin c. 10 weeks. No more sinusitis.

    Amazing.

what is NAC? I have sinusitus, but also nasal polyps and it has given me asthma. It has ruined my quality of life and been to ENT and asthma and allergy doctors for last 5 years and still no cure.

I've written about NAC several times.

    here's the Wiki link

Acetylcysteine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've never heard it curing sinusitis. for me, I use it to protect my liver and as a heavy metal chelator

I read the write up, my one doctor mentioned a far fetched thing about allergy to aspirin, but I never take it, and this seems to blcok that, I will give it a shot for sure. What is a good brad? Where can I get it?

How does it work to expel the heavy metals? I just started using NAC this week and I'm really curious about this benefit because I have a metal on metal hip replacement and my last test results came back with REALLY high Cobalt and Chromium levels. I'm looking for ways to get these heavy metals out of my system as best as possible without having the implant removed.

    What did he actually say?
40% of adults with asthma and nasal polyps will suffer an asthma attack if given aspirin (Samter's Triad). As will 10% of those with just asthma and no nasal polyps.

he just said that there are a few theories about the polyps, one is allergy, which I have been tested twice full panel and have none. He said another is allergy to aspirin and there is some kind of DR who puts you in hospital overnight and does something with detoxing you from aspirin, but I dont take aspirin, so I told him I dont want to do that. He is sending me for bloodwork for some disease which causes something about lining of mucus, but havent done it yet. Basically it has been 5 years of no smell, very little taste, lots of drugs and surgeries and weight gains and it has given me asthma and sleep apnea and hard for me to get exercise in. So basically killed my quality of life....

Its an oral chelation agent (which is rare- the oral component). It has to do with ionically bonding to metals, allowing them to be expelled from the body. Sorry I cannot offer more.
