    Insomnia/Trensomnia and melatonin

Cant sleep for shit. I lay down damn near fall asleep and my eyes pop open, stress floods into my brain and I am screwed for a few hours. I don't like anything about sleeping pills. So I got melatonin. Its supposed to promote better sleep. Has anyone tried melatonin or anything that works that is not a habit forming, prescription, groggy making, mind altering, sleep aid?
If I can get past that fist time my eyes come open and just stay the fuck out all night, I would be good. Once my eyes open I cannot return to sleep until I am exhausted. It boils down to 3-4 hours of sleep and it sucks.

Strangely I stopped getting those side effects from Tren I used to have to swap out towels and t shirts all night and have sleepless nights. I used sleep easy for a while it helped some times.

Older generation sleep medications (all otc + zolpediem and others) inhibit REM, which inhibits memory formation, which inhibits learning (and other things). Two exceptions are Belsomra and Trazadone. Both affect orexin, sleep/wake cycle regulating hormones.
So far, studies show that Belsomra exclusively affects orexin but its expensive.
Trazadone affects orexin and others, like specific actions on some parts of serotonin. Trazadone at low doses affects orexin. At higher doses it affects Serotonin. A low dose is 50 mg. A dose for anxiety is around 400mg. As a side benefit, it reduces sexual related anxiety. Take it on an empty stomach 1 hour before bed.
Also, I've heard about Delta sleep inducing peptide but I don't know anything about it.
My strategy for sleep medicines is to only take when absolutely needed, stay away from those that affect REM and to rotate the use of medicines so that a tolerance/reliance is not built.
    Good luck

Use of the ones which screw with REM is also thought to contribute to dementia.

Sleep aids worry me. I had a wiskey sleeping pill era back in the day and the pills messed with me bad. Even non prescript made me feel like shit. Also, everyone in my family gets dementia if they live long enough... I really dont want dementia. Thanks quester. You are a sharp cat.

Try 200mg Suntheanine an hour before bed. It won't f*ck up your brain chemistry like most prescription sleeping pills.

4 hours of natural sleep is much healthier than 8 hours of drug induced sleep. Exhaust all you options before resorting to prescription sleeping pills.

Yes. It's a derivative of tea, calms the nerves and alleviates anxiety.

If the Suntheanine fails you, you could go with some Diphenhydramine HCL or Doxylamine Succinate (Doyxlamine is stronger but will give more of a hangover effect the next day).

Give the Suntheanine a week. If that fails go to Diphenhydramine HCL. If that fails try Doxylamine Succinate. The only one I'd suggest long term is the Suntheanine though.

    Also try reading before bed.

Diphenhydramine and doxylamine both are habit forming and disrupt REM.

Surely it cant smell worse than vitamin b? I got good sleep again last night. I am suprised anything natural works this well. If It ceases working I will just up the dosage. There are zeo side effects that I can see.

COOL! My girlfriend turned me on to it and I was skeptical. They are "gummies". "Sure honey two gummy bears will knock me TFO!" , but they have. Damn, I love that girl.

I was saying, it is good to hear that it worked for you. My girlfriend told me about melatonin and bought me chewable "gummy" melatonin. I was skeptical of them being effective because they looked like gummy bears. I then expressed deep emotion torward her because she is so good to me.

    Ingredients:

    1 tbsp of coconut oil
    ¼ tsp of raw honey
    1/8 tsp of sea salt
    How it Works?

All of these ingredients provide a wide range of health benefits, but when combined, their effects are even more enhanced. They work in synergy to relax your mind as well as to prevent cortisol spikes, which is known to be the root cause of your waking up during the night.

Coconut Oil: It provides an energy boost and a feeling of satiety, which prevents both blood sugar spikes during the night and feeling of hunger early in the morning.

Raw Honey: Although honey is naturally sweet, it doesn’t raise sugar levels! It supplies the brain with the needed amount of glycogen, which is very important since low glycogen levels lead to an elevated secretion of hormones like adrenaline and cortisol, both of which cause sleep problems.

Sea Salt: Sea salt energizes the body while lowering stress hormone levels.

    How to Use It?

    Option 1:

Mix the coconut oil and honey first, and then stir in the sea salt. Take a spoon of the mixture and have a glass of water afterwards.

    Option 2

Take the raw honey and coconut oil separately, and have a glass of water after. Then, stir in the sea salt in a glass of water and drink it right once dissolved. If you wake up during the night, take the remedy once again and you`ll fall asleep in a matter of minutes.

Took three melatonin and injected just before bed. Bad Idea. Terrible insomnia. I at least would wake up but immediately fell back asleep. I cant imagine why it kept me awake.

Alprazolam. .25mg right before bed. It's got a bad rap because idiots abuse it and most importantly, it's off patent so it's cheap and the DEA doesn't like cheap legal drugs.
