Protein shakes vs good old fashion food

Are protein shakes really all there cracked up to be?

Or have we become sheep to the supplement makers?

I've often pounded a shake or too back when I'm in a pinch, or I through a couple in per day to try and reach my caloric intake if needed.

But how does whey protein stack up to chicken breast,steak,eggs,etc... I know they say that whey has the highest BV rating etc..

My question is : are they a waist of money or do they have a place in BB?

I see a lot of pro's endorsing them but I don't see any of them taking any!

Nothing beats food overall. But a good whey shake right after a workout is definitely the best option.

I believe like anything in bb you need a good balance. Use it for what it is a supplement not a replacement. MRP are great for the protein and the Vitamins. Your body absorbs them better than in the pill form. Thats the main reason I take MRP. Besides that is a lot of chicken and tuna one has to eat to get 300 grams a day.

    300grams is easy! I'm consuming 500-600/day

But without the shakes I'd have to start my own chicken farm,or
stock the pond in the backyard with fish!

I have a shake when i get up for breakfast for quick aminos and to get myself in an anabolic state, where i try to stay throughout the day. also, i have one when i get home from the gym, and i have one when i wake up at night to piss. When i start to cut, ill probably just take 15g of glutamine and some BCAAs when i wake up at night. This is in addition to 5 whole meals. so that makes 8 "feedings".

Hope this helps...BTW billyboy, is that you in your ava?!? Lookin GOOD bro!
