    high or low reps?

ok just wonderin what some of you use to gain mass on your legs high or low reps, personally i have gained great size in my thighs from doin high rep squats like 20 or above but some gain in low reps. Just wondering what some of you do?

see before i was doing parallel squats with 405 for 20 reps and i didnt feel like my legs were growin much...so i dropped weight to 225 and i do sets of 20 to 40 reps going below parallel and my legs are so engorged with blood its hard for me to walk but i feel they are lookin better than they ever have...i have tried heavy weight low reps before but didnt work very well

i guess your body type likes high reps then, most people i have been around do heavy weight for mass and it seems to work for them, u can try alternating month to month and see which one gives u the best gains....high reps dont do much for me...

    I squat 6 x 10 at 330,
    then do 6 x 10 at 330 haack,
then do single leg extensions max weight (no idea what the weight is since its on a machine) x 10 and drop a plate off x 10 and so on until my legs feel like a weenie ready to pop.

Legs take a lot of reps to make grow and define. When you find the right number for you, they really do take off like weeds.

this is my current leg routine...
    leg press 3 plates x 25 reps
    6 plates x 25 reps
9 plates 25-30 reps then i do a drop set of 4 plates for 50 reps

    squat 135x20, 225x20, 225x20,225x20,225x50
    inner thigh machine 120x30, 150x30, 150x30-40
leg extension.....just rep out sets with medium/heavy weight and throw in some drop sets to burn my quads to failure

    ham's
    romanian deads 135x15, 135x15, 225x15,225x15,275x15,315x12
    seated leg curl 100x20,140x20,160x20,200x15-20
single standing leg curl 40x15, 50x15, 70x15 then drop set to 30 for as many reps as i can do and thats it for me

I Have had great strength and size gains in my Quad's with only using 2 excersises, Leg Press and Hack squat. The results speak for themselves,
4 sets of 8 reps per excersise and heavy. I'm only a begginer in weight training and never used juice (yet) And I'm doing 1730lb Leg presses for 8 reps and 12 months ago I would have been lucky to do 900lb leg press. Everybody is different so just find what you think works and stick with it I guess.

My legs really like the 10-12 rep range, esp 11-12. When i do 11-12, my legs seem to get 5-15 lbs stronger every week. It took me like 3 years to realize this though. I was doin lower reps like 4-6 for months and wasnt gettin anything. At one point i was squating 325 for only 6. I then started using around 11-12 somtimes 10 reps, and in several months, eventually 350 for 9 reps.

On the other hand, my chest doesnt get di*k out of 10-12 reps. It seems like 1-7 reps is the only range my chest gets anything out of. Even when i do 3 reps, i notice hypertrophy

it just depends on your ratio of muscle fibers.....fast twitch or slow....you have both but you will most likely have more of one then the other
