    does this seem weird?

Okay, for about 2 years now I worked out for "the pump", and well I haven't made really any decent gains in size or strength, even when I was bulking I didn't really gain as much as I'd liked. So last month I started working out heavier, not really being concerned with the pump (with good form), and I've gained almost an inch on my arms, and gained about 11 pounds (which is decent for me). Any opinions on this?

I feel the same way. Whenever I lift heavy i don't get as good of a "pump" or sometimes none at all. But I do grow more, I know i'm pushing myself because even though there is lack of a pump I won't be able to push up any more weight after 5-8 reps or so.

So is there really any point to the "pump" at all?

"The Pump" (don't quote me on this one by the way), it basicly blood cells rushing to the site you're working. The increased blood flow gives you the "pump". I find I get better pumps doing higher reps (cutting)

D*mn, I feel like that I have waisted 2 years of working out for the pump. Oh well, live and learn I guess.
