Hey just wondering would pushups in any ways hinder my chest gains? I would like to start doing them daily just to do something between crunch sets after cardio.. They also seem to make my chest a bit tighter..

I do push ups at the very end of my chest routine supersetting them with flyes and it feels great.
I like doing them cause they also give me a good chest strech..
Everynite before I go to bed I blast out as many pusups as I can do. 71 is the max for the PT test when I go back to school. Im gonna smash the first one I tell you what..
OK Elliot, here's the deal. Assuming no prior shoulder injuries, if pushups on the floor are giving you a significant stretch you should seriously consider stretching your chest, rotator cuff, and surrounding area more frequently. If you are doing, thus have the flexibility, pushups on blocks or between benches ignore the prior statements.
Regarding pushups in your training routine. IMO pushups are a good thing and they definitely have a place in a chest workout but I wouldn't train them with a greater frequency than you train the antagonist muscles. In english, don't increase your chest workload without increasing back by at least the same amount.
i superset pushups with either incline flys or pullovers.....works great just like that guy above said
