Nope, apparently you spoke to somebody with a lifetime pass to the funny farm. It happens to all of us, if you talk to enough people, eventually you will run into someone really dumb.

when i was younger, about the age of 13 when i got into weightlifting, my mom told me to stay away from all standing weighted excercises b/c it would "stunt my growth". i was like 5'2 then. now im 19, 5'10, and ive been doing standing DB's since age 13.

If you stood up and held the dumbells all day, everyday for all 6 years of your adolescense, you're not going to stunt your growth or make your arms any longer.

But he'd still grow and wouldn't stunt his growth.

Tell him that you already knew that, and just didn't want to grow anymore.

Stunted growth from standing DB curls? Hmmm somebody should probably say something to Ronnie...**** imagine how much bigger Arnold could have been. (sarcasm at its finest). Oh man, I dunno who told you that, but its a load. I do believe you may stunt your growth if you start vigorously working out at a very very young age, but I've never seen this happen to begin with. Do the DB curls and tell whoever told you this they need to do some research on the AR forums. lol
