Chest/Shoulders together or separate?
Trying to figure out my routine for my upcoming bulking cycle. Right now this is what i have done for about a year.
M-Shoulders/Traps
T-Legs
W-Chest
R-Off
F-Back
S-Arms
S-Off
Works relatively well. What I'm wondering, is since shoulders get worked with the chest AND back, should I make it like this?
M-Shoulders/Chest
T-Off
W-Legs
R-Off
F-Back/Traps
S-Arms
S-Off
Also, is either split including too many rest days? I know I'm just going to go F cking crazy if I'm on Test and Dbol and im not in the gym....

If you have been doing the first one for a year, I dont see a problem with you swicthing things up. They both look good. Personally I dont like putting chest\sholder together because I can't push the same amount of weight up.

I do chest and shoulders together, and don't find any problems with it. Shoulders are used alot on your chest day, whether you want them too or not sometimes, so I figure its best just to get them out of the way that day. I like to go heavy on chest, and then use lighter weight on shoulders with front and lateral raises supersetted, and then hit it heavy on the military. It's rough, but it's an awsome workout.

dont do chest and shoulders together.
m-chest/tris
tues-legs
w-off
thurs-back/bi's
fri-shoulders/traps
sat/sun-off
do somethin like that.it doesnt have to be like that but you should get the idea. your shoulder workouts are gonna suffer BADLY if your looking on hitting them up after your chest routine. especially your front delts.

I like working Chest and Shoulders together. One thing I've personally noticed is that my shoulders don't need an insane amount of weight to grow. When I go heavy, the larger muscle groups (posterior deltoid and trapz) tend to do most of the work. When I go lighter weight and concentrate more on the feel and a higher rep range, they tend to grow a bit better PLUS I'm not putting my shoulder in any sort of immediate danger with heavy weight.
Try this...
I can't work Back after Legs. Just don't work for me.
Day 1 - Chest/Shoulders
Day 2 - Back/Trapz
Day 3 - Rest
Day 4 - Arms
Day 5 - Legs
Day 6 - Rest
Day 7 - Rest
That's a pretty good split that's worked for me.Last edited by RoNNy THe BuLL; 08-29-2004 at 01:16 AM.

I have done chest/delts together many times....if I'm training with that split I will do back/traps/rear delts together....looks like this:
mon - chest/delts
tues - back/traps/rear delts
wed - rest
thurs - quads/hams/calves
fri - bis/tris/forearms
sat - rest
sun - rest
It never hurts to change things up in the gym...it keeps your muscles guessing and will help keep you out of ruts.
