    Talking brand new to the board-question on workout routine

    Alright guys, I can definitely say from reading message boards on this site compared to others and can say that you all are the most knowledgable, so i'm proud to be a part of the board. Anyway, i'm 5'9, and weighed in today at about 156...not the biggest guy, but i've put on about 25 lbs in the last year since i started lifting. I'm only 18, so im staying away from the juice for at least another few years. Anyway, just wanted some feedback on my workout routine from you all.

    Day 1- Chest, triceps
    Day 2-Off
    Day 3-Biceps, back
    Day 4-Shoulders
    Day 5-Legs
    Day 6-off

    Then repeat...Any feedback is appreciated...Thanks, and glad to be a part of the board!

    how come on day 2 your taking off? work / school?

    i think day 3,4,5 are too close

    you could do
    day1 on , Chest, triceps
    day 2 off,
    day 3 on, Biceps, back
    day 4 off,
    day 5 on, Shoulders
    day 6 off,
    day 7 on Legs


    or day 1-2 on , 1-Chest, triceps 2-Biceps, back
    day 3 off,
    day 4-5 on , 4-Shoulders 5-Legs
    day 6-7 off

    Monday:Chest
    Tuesday:Bis, Back
    Wendesdayff
    Thursday:Legs
    Friday:Shoulders and tris
    Try that out for a couple weeks

    Devils d im with you bro . I was doing a similar routine as yours hme and getting poop gains. I went to a routine like the one above and got major gains .Turns out i was overtraining.
    You need time to recover between days.

    Thanks for the responses guys...i think im going to try the every other day routine that you suggested...
    Day 1-chest, tris
    day 2-off
    day 3-bis, back
    day 4-off
    day 5-shoulders
    day 6-off
    day 7-legs

    i definitely like a day to rest after chest...for some reason, my chest tends to get extra sore...i thought i might be overtraining but i dont think it would make sense at once every 6-7 days...who knows..

    Welcome to the board brother !

    I always put my back and legs as many days apart as I can because of the strain from deadlifts and squats on my lower back.

    Mondays - legs (squats, SLDLs and claves)
    Tuesdays - chest, tricepes & abs
    Wednesday (cardio only)
    Thursday - shoulders & abs
    Friday - back & biceps (deadlift day)
    Saturday - (cardio only)
    Sunday - off, nothing, nada !

    That is pretty much my routine. Abs Mon. & Thur. Lower on Monday and upper on thur.
