    What a waste of time

    Yo,

Just come back from working my chest and tri's.

Thing is, I couldn't bench, do a cross over or flies.

My right Lat was killing me.

Particularly when I did my initial 132lb bench. Doing the reps was fine, but when I put the bar back after my set, I felt a sharp shooting pain in my right lat.

Todays workout would have conisted of:

    4 sets cross over,

    4 sets flies,

    3 sets bench press,

3 sets tripect press (lying down on a bench with elbows pointing towards the celing)

3 sets super setting tricept pulldown with over head tripect pull.

i didn't even mange to get half done cuase of my painful lat.

I did warm up. I did 50 reps of 30lb on the chest press thicgy (sorry name slips my mind) that brings the arms to the centre of the cest from the sides.

I'm now thinking this isn't an adquate warm up.

My question is: What is a suitable warm up for chest and tri's?

BTW, I did a shot of sus250 in my left tram today morning if that matters.

    Thank peeps!

Tri calastenics or how ever you spell it. Find a clock in your gym with a second hand and watch it. Hold each stretch of 30 seconds. Also try to stretch the opposing muscles you intend to work. IE: Lats and Bi's. Do a search for stetches for these muscles. For lats, I grab onto a support beam or heavy piece of vertical equipment at about waist level and lean back with my feet near to what I am grabbing onto.

    Thanks man,

I like the idea of warming up with opposing muscles.

    Cheers.

Yeah bro, you gotta stretch really really well. Especially before presses. I usually do a set with the bar before benching. Do it really slow, concentrating on the muscles involved
