How Can I Get Better Muscle Definition ?

Im busy tryin to add some quality muscle size to my body, but just wanted some advice on how to also get a better muscle definition to my body, is it just a case of the right balance of cardio and diet or is it something else, because some guys that are the same stats as me are looking a lot better. Im 6ft 1/2 inch and weigh about 168lb.

At that weight and height you would think you would be very well defined already...

I think your main goals would be to add some size, am I right?

You can always lean out again later.... JMO...

concentrate on adding muscle for now, then when you have it, you can worry about definition/cutting/looking good etc etc.

Generally for tone /definition do higher volume & reps ranges not using the heavest weights. It has worked for me as I do not have the mass of guys over 200lbs but have the best V-shape in the gym (being modest). And yes your diet plays a role as it does in EVERYTHING..

Although I weigh about 168lb at the minute, it isn't obvious just by looking at me. And although my main objective is to find at least another 25lb I would like to look a little beter defined but at present have been lifting heavy weight for low reps to try build the muscle in the first place

Use heavy weight at low reps, very intense workouts prioritizing on core movements (squat, deadlift, military press, bench) and get your diet in check... look at the bulking sticky in the diet forum. Like the other guys said, you have to build the muscles first before you cut/tone up to get more "quality"

It will also help a great deal if your bodyfat is low....

I noticed once I got my bf under 14% I started to see muslces I always had, but they became more defined. Also, a great trick is to flex the muscles you are lifting while doing the end of the movements...
