    too much?

K everyone wants nice arms.. So much so that week after week they pound the crap outta them until they puke.. My question is am I doing to much?
    For biceps I do:
4 sets 6-10 reps of straightbar
4 sets of 6-10 standing dumbell
    3 sets of 10 preacher
4 sets of 6-10 of hammer

    for Tri's I do:

4 sets of 6-8 close grip
4 sets of 8-10 skull crusher (only do them every other week)
4 sets of 10-12 cable pushdowns
3 sets of 10 overhead cable extentions

imo 15 sets is too much. 6 sets will make me sore for a day or 2

IMO YES, this is what I do, tri/bi same day, 3 sets barbell curl
    3 sets skull crushers
    2 sets alternates
    2 sets close bench
    1 set ez bar curl
    1 set weighted dips

I alternate the exercises, like one set barebell curl, normal rest, then a set of skulls, then go back to barebell, then skull and so on.

IMO thats okay because it is 15sets and if you do only 6 reps it is the same almost if you did 10 working sets like ToJuice does performing 10reps. It also matters what you do for your back workouts as they too use bi's secondary during most pulling exercises. I do both high volume one time then low sets ect.. And same for the triceps realizing they are bigger than your biceps.

You can get away with that routine for awhile and make nice gains, but you will have to back off sooner or later to fully recover. I wouldnt train like that for more than 4-6 weeks at a time but it depends on how long you've been training etc....

    Agreed.
6 is plenty so long as you're training properly.

Don't mix up your routine every couple weeks. Try staying consistent.

I have been staying consistant.. IMO.. doing 6 sets for arms is not sufficient.. I don't think there is a PT out there that would suggest that.. I only train arms once a week and 6 sets is def not enough

Do what you feel works best. I beleive in high volume training, however, there are many ways to reach your goals.

I do an average of 12 sets per workout, but it varies depending on which day it is. I couldn't see doing any more but if its working for you then why mess with a good thing bro?

why would you complete your workout with volume when intensity is the element which triggers growth?

Boy, so that is the key to growth only intensity!! I never said intensity is not required and many can have growth with volume training . For one thing your endurance & cardiovascular is improved but that is beside the point. The question had to do with overtraining not growth and I gave my opinion and why volume according to you has no intensity?? Maybe you can train Dorian Yates way and see results but I doubt it.
