I agree with phatmark but as long as they are deep seated ones. The other is lunges.

Yeah, lunges are probably the best, but personally I don't do them. I get the best results from leg presses.

Heavy full squats using the low bar position on your shoulders done using powerlifting form .... try to keep your shins perpendicular to the floor and near the bottom of the lift arch your back a little and stick your rear out. You can lift more weight like this and there is a lot more ham/glute involvement especially at the bottom of the movement below parallel. Make sure you go down as low as possible.

Just recently I changed up my day--it now looks like this:

    Squats: 3 heavy sets
    Stiff-legged deadlifts: 3 heavy sets
    DB lunges: 3 heavy sets
Standing or seated calf raises: 3 heavy sets

I last did that workout on last Thursday. My ass STILL has some remnants of soreness. Try that workout, bro. I'm pretty sure you'll be hurtin afterwards. And it only took me about 40 minutes to bang out.

Try step-ups......hold two heavy dumbbells in each hand and step up onto a bench one leg at a time. Those and lunges will give you that firm butt your girlfriend will love to grab. Three to four sets of 10-15 reps each leg and you're on your way to passing the quater test.

    Squats or Lunges.

Leg presses have little or no glute activation since there is minimal hip extension. They are great for quads though.

Deep Squats, Lunges, Stiff leg Deads, if you want to get them real good, do the lunges onto a platform, same with the stiff deads gives that awesome stretch.
