Not sure why you are asking about increasing sweep when you do not know what it is.?? Sweep referes to the separation of the vastus medialis and vastus laterralis thigh muscles. Sometimes it represents the outer lateralis in general. Most exercises hit it by turning your toes more inward can target it better..

I dont recommend that to to many people... turning your toes in or out can cause major knee problems. What i do recommend is what Deca said... hacks. But place your feet about 1-2 inches apart. Also, you can do this with squats... but its a little more trickey because you have to keep your balance.

ok one more quick question.... bluethunder said that Sweep referes to the separation of the vastus medialis and vastus laterralis thigh muscles, but my question is how can you see this sweep when the rectus famoris is covering that area where the vastus medislis and laterralis meet?

I too agree they cannot go to extremes, and hacks were mentioned already. But if you do squats closer stance you can use a small plate under your heels which will help with balance & less strain on the knees.
