What do deads build more, your lat width or thickness? Do they build more your lower lats or upper lats?
I'm doing 4x5 increasing the weight each set.

Neither, they primarily work your erector spinae...
So deads don't work your lats at all?
they dont work them directly but they do give your back a look of overall thickness.

exactly. i did deads as my only back work on 2 occasions. both times, my middle back and rear delts and lats felt a little tender the next day. but of course my lower back felt liek it was hit the hardestQuote:
