    Working out with fresh tattoo

Hey I just got a tattoo on my shoulder and the guy at the shop said to wait 1 week then start back lifting weights on my upper body. My question is to all the guys who have tattoos out there. How long did you wait to start lifting weights again and since it is on my shoulder, can i do upperbody?

I lifted the next day. I got one down my tricep on a sunday afternoon and did chest and tri's the next day and had no probs. Maybe you would want to put a bandage over it to avoid possible infection.

i waited two weeks. i took it as an oppurtunity to rest my body, been lifting intensely this year. plus there might be a slight chance that your tat coulr rub against something and you do not want that. wait at least til the scabs are gone.
