How many times a week to do abs?

Basically i have a 6 pack and a pretty good diet. But somedays my stomach is not as good as other days and i feel "fat". Just wondering if its good to do abs everyday or if abs are like every other muscle in the body and shold only be worked on like 3 times a week. Thanks for the imput.

Yes, they are another muscle but the difference is that they can be worked considerably more often. It also depends on how you train them ie. heavy, no weight higher reps ect.. like a muscle if trained heavy they can grow. My opinion why they can be worked more is due to the fact of the type of muscle fibers much like calfs AND the core of the body gets much blood flow so having the abs oxygenated allows for quicker recovery. Realize if you already have abs then you may only require once a week and for some that are gifted they do not evan train them as many compound movements such as squats indirectly hit the abs.

i think 3 times a week is good, to me every day would be too much cause they still need time to recover, but thats MO. maybe try every other day..

i train abs once a week. They get hammered on squat day and on deadlift day, no need to overtrain em.
