lower trap and delt tie in question????

I've been looking for a good exercise to build up my lower traps. Reading the mags i see how huge ronnie coleman's back is specifically where his lats and lower traps tie in. I think that is a sign of a complete back. I notice when his doing rows, he flexes and sticks his traps out. I tried doing that but i had a hard time concentrating on my delts. Any suggestions or comments????

Go for form. Up right rows is a compound movement that works: delts, traps and to a lesser degree: biceps and forearms. Try doing behind the back shurgs on the smith machine.

In addition to above advice... try doing the back shrugs...but free... I find the feeling is great; i get a pump from the point where my traps insert at the base of my skull..straight down to the lowest point of insertion...

Power cleans are a nice complement to this exercise also

Back shrugs??? Do you perform this exercise face down on incline bench with dumbells and flex your shoulder blades in???
Anyone tried behind the back upright rows? i've read about them in a mag., tried them and it seemed like i did more work with my arms rather than my back.

he said "behind the back shrugs" on the smith machine...as in, having your hands grasp the barbell behind you and then doing shrugs...
