(shoulder, chest) and week 2 i did all barbell exercises. but the funny part is that every time i do barbell exercises my left shoulder gets a pulling pain and looses power. its hard to explain. i never had a shoulder injury before.. any suggestions..

Doing barbell exercises you have a fixed range of motion. Dumbells, you do not. I think you might have either gone too heavy on barbells, which most people that hurt their shoulders, hurt them on barbell exercises. While on aas your muscles may get stronger, but your tendons and ligaments may not. Thats how you get hurt. I would suggest laying off barbell exercises for 3 or 4 weeks, stick to cable, hammersmith machines.

dont go heavy with the barbells till the shoulder heals, also warm up the shoulders well before lifting.

I think it maybe the position that your in that causing your shoulder to hurt, or one of your arms is stronger than the other. Thats completely normal, not everyone is completely semectrical

If it hurts to do barbell, yes. When you quit hurting , NO.. They're too beneficial for you!!
Thats good that your making good gains from dumbells. That tells you that your stablizer muscles are strong. But your eventually gonna have to get back to barbell if you want to put on some weight. If your still hurting after a month or so, go to the doctor. I would also recommend taking glucosomine and chondroiton supplements.

supplementcentral.com, mysupplementstore.com, etc. You also can do a search to compare prices. I personally get mine from an orthopedic doctor. Theyre called Rebuilds.
