I do not think so. However, 20 sets per large muscle would be the upper limit. That is the highest I go when I am in a high volume phase, which only last about 4 weeks.

no not at all, 20 sets is a a good number for those. but it also depends on how long you have been lifting even for a newbie it is ok though.

Speaking for myself it would not be overtraining. But it depends on your goals and conditioning & experience. 20 sets for 3 bodyparts is 7 sets per group. So weight, reps ,intensity schemes plays a role but the bottom line is what do you do post workout? Go home ,have a beer & totsie roll? If so then yes you will be overtraining. To help prevent anytype of overtraining your nutritional intake timimg is paramount.

personally, i do 21 sets for back, 21 for chest, 21 for legs, 12 for shoulders, 12 for bis, 12 for tris. i've gotten great results since i've bumped it up, but everyone's body responds different.

iv asked people on diff forums, and alot of them are telling me 20sets for shoulders is to much.....But how would this look
4x shoulderpress, 3x front raise, 3x lateral rasies, 3x cable flyes
4x lat pulldown, 3x clos grip pulldown, 4x close cable rows, 3x wide cable rows, 4x db rows.
4x decline press, 4x incline db press, 4x flat press, 3x cable flyes
BTW those arent done in one day

I would agree with the 20 set shoulder workout being to much, however; back, i think, would be ok. I would throw in some chins and deads.
